Brilliant Leadership Index

We believe everyone has the power to be brilliant.

The Brilliant Leadership Index shows how Kindness, Empathy, and Inspiration are arranged as drivers in your natural leadership style. Twelve questions, around two to three minutes. You'll see your profile on screen straight away — and can request your full PDF report from there.

Answer as you are right now, not as you aspire to be. There are no right answers and no result is better than another. Your first instinct is usually your most honest one.

What the BLI measures.

Every leader has a natural energy. The BLI maps yours across the three qualities that our research consistently shows separate good leaders from brilliant ones.

Driver one

Kindness

The degree to which care for others is a genuine, consistent instinct — not a reaction to pressure or a performance for the room. Kindness is the foundation that makes everything else safe to build on. Without it, empathy feels clinical and inspiration feels manipulative.

Driver two

Empathy

The ability to read what is really happening beneath the surface — not just what people say, but what they mean and what they need. Empathic leaders solve the right problems because they take the time to understand the real ones before they act.

Driver three

Inspiration

The capacity to create genuine energy and belief — to make people feel that what they are doing is worth doing, and that they are capable of more than they thought. Inspiration is the #1 driver of workplace happiness according to the Global Workplace Happiness Report 2026.

“Brilliant leadership is not about being the most impressive person in the room. It is about making the people in the room feel seen, valued, and capable of something brilliant.

A note before you begin

This assessment has 12 questions and takes around 2-3 minutes. Understanding how you naturally show up for the people around you is one of the most valuable things you can do for yourself as a leader.

For each question, choose the one option that feels most like you right now — not how you aspire to be. There are no right answers, and no result is better than another.

Don’t overthink it. Your first instinct is usually your most honest one.

Your driver breakdown

What this tells you — and what it doesn’t

The Brilliant Leadership Index shows how your three drivers are arranged — where you lead from naturally, and where your blind spots might sit. It doesn’t measure how strongly each driver shows up in practice. That’s a different question, and a more demanding one. The Brilliance Assessment goes there. It’s only available through working with Brilliant Humans — contact us to find out more.

Every engagement
starts with a
conversation.

The BLI is where most conversations begin. But if your results raised questions — about your team, your culture, or how you lead — we would genuinely love to talk. Thirty minutes, no agenda, no pitch.
