Who we are

Brilliant Humans Ltd operates the website brillianthumans.co.uk. We are a leadership, communication, teams, and marketing consultancy. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Brilliant Humans Ltd is the data controller for the personal data collected through this site.

What information we collect

We only collect information that helps us respond to your enquiries or improve the site. Here is what we collect and why:

Contact form submissions. When you use the contact form on our Contact page, we collect your name and email address. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry. Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify on our behalf.

Booking data. If you book a call via our scheduling link (cal.eu/brillianthumans/30min), that booking is managed by Cal.eu. The data you provide — typically your name, email address, and calendar availability — is governed by Cal.eu’s own privacy policy, not ours. We receive a confirmation of the booking but do not separately store your data.

Analytics data. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymised, aggregated information about how people use this site — for example, which pages are visited, how long visitors spend on them, and where traffic comes from. No personally identifiable information is collected as part of this process. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this data; you can read more in our Cookie Policy.

Cookie consent preference. When you respond to our cookie banner, your choice is stored in your browser using localStorage (key: bh_cookie). This preference is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To respond to enquiries submitted via the contact form
• To understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it over time
• To remember your cookie preference so we do not ask again on future visits

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling. We do not send marketing emails unless you have explicitly asked us to be in touch. We do not sell your data, ever.

Our lawful basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for processing your personal data. The bases we rely on are:

Legitimate interests — for contact form submissions, where responding to an inbound enquiry is a reasonable expectation on both sides, and for analytics, where we have a legitimate interest in understanding how our site is used in order to improve it. We have assessed that these interests do not override your rights or freedoms.

Consent — where you have accepted analytics cookies via our cookie banner, we rely on your consent as the lawful basis for processing analytics data. You can withdraw this consent at any time by declining cookies or clearing your browser storage.

How long we keep your information

Contact form submissions are retained by Netlify for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry, and no longer than 12 months unless there is an ongoing relationship that warrants retention. Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics in accordance with the retention period set in our GA4 account (currently 14 months). Cookie preference data stored locally in your browser persists until you clear your browser storage.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes. We work with a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:

Netlify — our hosting provider and the service that processes contact form submissions. Privacy policy: netlify.com/privacy

Google Analytics / Google — used for anonymised site analytics. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google’s browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Cal.eu — our booking and scheduling service. If you book a call, their privacy policy applies: cal.com/privacy

Google Fonts — we load typefaces from Google’s font delivery network. When your browser requests these fonts, Google’s servers receive your IP address and browser information. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

All processors are required by contract to handle data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

• Right of access — you can ask us what personal data we hold about you
• Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data (“the right to be forgotten”)
• Right to restriction — you can ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances
• Right to data portability — you can ask for your data in a portable, machine-readable format
• Right to object — you can object to our processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), if you believe we have handled your data unlawfully. This site uses a small number of cookies and browser storage technologies. Rather than duplicate the detail here, we have a dedicated Cookie Policy that explains exactly what we use, why, and how to manage your preferences.
