Brilliant performance.
Uncompromised humanity.

Helping leaders, teams, and organisations perform brilliantly, without losing their human touch.

In a world louder, faster and more automated than ever, brilliance is hidden — not absent.

Gallup’s 2026 report puts global employee engagement at just 20% — its lowest level since 2020, falling for the second consecutive year. The Global Workplace Happiness Report finds that only 37% of employees believe their company genuinely cares about them. The IC Index shows UK employee trust in senior leaders fell nine points in a single year. The numbers are pointing in the same direction, and they have been for a while.

The independent research also tells us what actually moves the dial. The strongest predictor of happiness, collaboration, and advocacy at work is not pay, not perks, not workload management. It is inspiration. Belonging comes second. Feeling valued comes third. The things organisations invest most in rank lowest. The things that cost the least — being kind, being present, being human — matter most.

Our own research asked 105 people what they most associate with brilliance in others. 54% chose kindness and empathy — above vision and creativity. The independent evidence and the human evidence are telling the same story. The work of Brilliant Humans is to help organisations finally act on it, and we believe the results will follow.

Most leadership advice optimises for the things people rank as least important. We build ours around the things they rank first.

The research that proves it

The evidence is clear.
The gap is growing.

Gallup, the Happiness Index, and the IC Index all point to the same crisis: organisations are underdelivering exactly where it matters most. Then we ran our own study. We asked 105 people what they most associate with brilliance. Only 3% named a boss or manager as the person who shaped them most. The independent research and the human research are saying the same thing — and most leaders still haven’t acted on either.

Founders, CEOs, and senior leaders who care as much about how they grow as how fast.

The leaders we work with are usually navigating one of three moments: a step-change in growth, a leadership team that needs to evolve alongside the company, or a strategic reset that needs both clearer thinking and harder decisions.

The common thread isn't sector, size, or stage. It's a leader who senses that something in the way they lead, communicate, or go to market could be sharper — and who's ready to do something about it.

We also work with businesses that need marketing to do more than generate noise — organisations where the product is genuinely excellent but the story being told doesn’t yet match it. Where pipelines are thin not because the offer is weak, but because the message isn’t landing with the right people in the right way. If your marketing feels busy but not effective, that’s usually a clarity problem, not a budget one.

  • Your leadership team is technically capable but quietly stuck — disagreements happen everywhere except the room they should happen in.
  • Marketing feels busy without being effective. You can see the activity. You can’t see the pipeline.
  • You have something important to say to your board, your customers or your team, and the message is technically right but isn’t landing.
  • You are growing faster than your culture is. The version of the company under pressure isn’t the version you want.
  • You’re considering hiring a senior leader, but the budget, the brief or the timing don’t yet line up.

If any of these sound familiar, we should talk.

Twenty years building brilliant teams from the inside.

Jonathan Griffiths spent over 20 years leading marketing teams across some of the most demanding businesses in the world — from Rugby World Cup 2019 and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, to scaling a $2bn SaaS business from scratch across EMEA.

He founded Brilliant Humans because the lesson was the same every time: the work only ever runs as well as the humans doing it. The highest performers were never just the most technically gifted or the loudest. They were the people who could think clearly under pressure, communicate so it landed, and bring the people around them with them.

Let’s be brilliant, together

“Gallup says engagement is at a twenty-year low. The Happiness Index says only 37% of employees feel genuinely cared for. Our own research found that 54% of people put kindness and empathy above every other quality in a leader. The data is not ambiguous. The organisations that treat human performance as a commercial priority — not a cultural nicety — are the ones pulling away.”
